This is part of a series of posts about the Campfire Talks we conduct while on our wilderness adventures. The talks are based upon the book ‘Wild At Heart’ by John Eldredge and focus on the 5 things what every man must be and do. Below are the outline/discussion points for the facilitator as you learn about area number five: An Adventure To Live
5 Things Every Man Must Be/Do:
Dangerous
Battle To Fight
Warrior/Protector
A Beauty To Rescue

AN ADVENTURE TO LIVE
QUESTION: Ask them about a time they really felt alive. What makes them feel alive? (mentors)
God hardwired you to crave adventure.
What must an adventure have? Dash of danger? Unknown, unpredictable, a little unsafe, outside your comfort zone? IS THIS HUNT AN ADVENTURE?
Adventure requires something of us and puts us to the test.
May fear the test but yearn to be tested, to discover we DO have what it takes.
Most men sacrifice dreams because of fear.
Bottom Line: Life is not a problem to be solved but an adventure to be lived.
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is men who have come alive.”
QUESTION TO ASK YOURSELVES: Ask them if they had permission to do anything they really wanted to do, what would it be?
– Don’t ask how (cut your desire off at knees). How is a faithless question. How is God’s job
– Man’s calling is written on his true heart – discovers it when enters the frontier of his heart.
What’s one way to figure out what that is? ASK GOD!! To hear God? Wilderness.
Only way to live this adventure is ongoing relationship with God.
Many men seek to control. False illusion. Can’t. Better to have an intimate relationship with God.
