2025 Gator/Hog Hunt

In August 2025, OMM conducted its inaugural Gator/Hog Hunt…and it was magnificent! Thanks to the extreme generosity of Matt Grubb of Gettin Grubb Outfitters, four young men with mentors, along with two OMM staff, headed to Florida to chase alligators and pigs. The trip was unbelievable from the very start – Matt’s Dad paid for us to stay at a GORGEOUS AirB&B; set on a beautiful lake, the huge home had an inground pool!  And the food they provided! Ribeyes and shrimp!

The next day, skilled guides Ben and Steven led us on quite a hunting adventure for gators. Each young man harvested a beautiful alligator!  But more thrills were still to come – dawn the next morning found the young men bouncing around in the back of a pickup on a citrus farm in search of hogs, where a beautiful sow was added to the bounty!

As with all our adventure trips, however, the most critical part of the hunt were our Campfire Talks. Based on the book ‘Wild At Heart’ by John Eldredge, everyone participated in thoughful discussion about Christian Masculinity. Our hope is that we planted the seeds within the young men as they travel the road to manhood.
