2025 Elk Hunts

Our 2025 elk hunts are best described in one word: MAGNIFICENT! They were far and away our most ambitious set of trips yet: Four consecutive hunts in January 2025, each with seven young hunters in pursuit of their first elk. 125 total in camp.

The results? 25 of the 28 young men downed a beautiful elk!

Each of the four hunts was unique. Some hunts were conducted in balmy, 50-degree weather, while others saw the young men battling heavy snow with wind chills of 25 below zero! Some hunts saw elk dropping into the snow within the first several minutes, while others finished with a flourish during the hunt’s final hour. We had people coming as far away as Michigan, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Texas, and New Mexico, proving that OMM is now a force on the national scene. Each young man had a mentor and personal guide; the trio usually conducted several stalks on elk herds numbering in the hundreds! However, it’s not easy getting an ethical shot on big groups: with several hundred eyes, ears, and noses, the elk were often challenging to get within shooting range. But when the pressure was on, these young men DID IT!

However, the most important part of each hunt didn’t occur in the field. The Campfire Talks were the most potent and transformational part of the weekend. Biblically-based discussions about Christian Masculinity, ones with a high level of involvement from the guides/mentors/cooks, helped the young men begin answering two critical questions: What’s my God-ordained identity, and what does He want me to do with my life? The final campfire talk concluded with worship music and an outdoor campfire. Each young man was presented with a knife and a bible written in it by his guide and mentor. Finally, the old men laid their hand on the young, praying over them to bestow masculinity.

What an amazing victory for the young men and the Kingdom of God!
